General Maintenance Ltd. (GML) was entrusted with the fabrication and installation of a structural steel monorail system at Malta Freeport, one of the Mediterranean’s leading transshipment hubs.

General Maintenance Ltd. (GML) was entrusted with the fabrication and installation of a structural steel monorail system at Malta Freeport, one of the Mediterranean’s leading transshipment hubs. This project was a key part of the port’s operational upgrade, aimed at streamlining cargo handling and internal logistics within the terminal.

Steel Fabrication
All monorail components were engineered and fabricated in-house by GML, including support frames, beams, rail tracks, and brackets. The system was designed for high load capacity, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability in a port environment.
On-Site Installation
Installation was carried out by our experienced rigging and welding teams, who coordinated closely with Freeport operations to minimize disruption. The monorail was mounted to pre-existing structures and reinforced bases, with precision alignment to ensure seamless mechanical integration with automated systems.
